13 नवंबर को एक बस के आकार का एस्टेरॉयड धरती से महज 386 किलोमीटर की दूरी से होकर गुजरा था। खगोलविदों ने जानकारी दी है कि इसकी जानकारी अगले दिन तक नहीं हो पाई थी। इस एस्टेरॉयड को 2020VT4 नाम दिया गया है। हवाई के मौना लोआ में स्थित एस्टेरॉयड टेरेस्ट्रियल इंपैक्ट लास्ट अलर्ट सिस्टम ने इसके धरती के पास से गुजरने के 15 घंटे बाद शनिवार की सुबह देखा।

वैज्ञानिकों का कहना है कि करीब 16-33 फीट के आकार का यह एस्टेरॉयड अगर और नजदीक से गुजरा होता तो यह वायुमंडल में ही जल जाता। इस एस्टेरॉयड की कक्षा ने इसे पृथ्वी से उतनी ही दूरी पर पहुंचा दिया, जितनी दूर अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्पेस स्टेशन है। इससे यह अब तक पृथ्वी के सबसे पास से गुजरने वाला एस्टेरॉयड बन गया। बता दें कि पहले इस एस्टेरॉयड को A10sHcN नाम दिया गया था।

विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार एक एस्टेरॉयड को पृथ्वी की सतह को नुकसान पहुंचाने के लिए कम से कम 25 मीटर का होना चाहिए। वहीं, कोई एस्टेरॉयड वैश्विक प्रभाव तब डाल सकता है जब उसका आकार एक से दो किलोमीटर तक हो। उदाहरण के तौर पर वैज्ञानिकों का मानना है कि करीब 66 मिलियन साल पहले जिस एस्टेरॉयड ने डॉयनासॉर का अस्तित्व मिटा दिया था वह करीब 12.1 किलोमीटर चौड़ा था।

भर्ती के एडमिट कार्ड रैली के शुरू होने से 15 दिन पहले आवेदक के ईमेल आईडी पर भेज दिए जाएंगे।
